Argus LWNVM (Light Weight Night Vision Mount)

The Argus LWNVM is a lightweight night vision mount closely modeled after the Wilcox G24 design, incorporating additional material reductions inspired by the G69 while maintaining the breakaway functionality characteristic of the L4 mount series.

Adjustment and Compatibility

The mount offers three independent axes of adjustment — fore/aft, up/down, and tilt — giving operators precise control over the positioning of their night vision device. It uses a standard dovetail interface and is compatible with any helmet fitted with a standard shroud (different shrouds can have different sizes). Devices must feature a Wilcox-pattern dovetail interface to be compatible; bayonet mounting systems are not supported. For monoculars we advise the use of our HARPY J-arm.

Construction and Weight

Machined from high-grade aluminum, the LWNVM weighs just around 150g, making it one of the lighter options available in its category without compromising structural integrity.

Design and Ergonomics

When stowed, the mount sits close to the helmet surface, keeping the overall profile low and reducing the perceived weight of the complete night vision assembly. All adjustments, as well as stowage and deployment, can be performed with a single hand, allowing operators to make quick changes without interrupting their activity.

Safety

The mount incorporates a passive breakaway mechanism that automatically releases from the helmet shroud when lateral or downward force exceeds a set threshold. This feature is particularly relevant during parachute operations and dynamic movement, where snagging on cords or external objects could otherwise result in neck strain or injury.
